The Accomplice

I have successfully convinced my sister from another mister, Steph Hamer to throw caution (and her family’s over-protectionism) to the wind  and accompany me on the adventure. Steph, my cool eighteen-year-old friend who constantly makes me feel old, is the perfect companion for the trip. She does photography, so can help me document the trip; she is incredibly smiley and happy and will do wonders for warming the hearts of potential lifts; she’s very innocent looking, but at the same time, corrupted to her core and so will make for more interesting conversation along the way. The excitement on Steph’s face when she was filling out the registration information last night was priceless, and I'm taking her to the Manchester Hitch 2k11 social on Monday to introduce her to everyone, course assignments permitting.

Steph and her luggage

So far, Steph has come up with a few ideas for raising money. I have no doubt she’ll muster the courage to address some of her lecture groups with a presentation, but she’s also thinking of doing a craft/cake sale around some of the well travelled areas of the university. I myself have received an excellent donation today. My brother from another mother, Bilal went home and shook his family upside down until money fell out of them, so to the Yasin family: your sponsorship is the most generous contribution I’ve received so far and I thank you very much. With the £20 received from the Yasin family, the total is now £98.98.
